NORBERT CACHE
In our family when we go on road trips we like to spot Norbert Dentrassangle lorries. It used to be fun because when we realised that these lorries were all over the place we used to shout out 'Norbert' on spotting one. Now, it would seem Norbert has done SO well that his lorries are ubiquitous so now we have devised a new game called 'Norbert Cache' (e acute). Tucked away in little depots Norbert can be found far and wide. Here are a few:

Ah yes, good old Norbert. I always pronounce it the English way, it sounds so much better. And then we pronounce Eddie Stobart nice and Frenchly. Is there such a word as Frenchly? Um, I think not.
Thanks for your comments. I don't think I can think straight at the moment. So I don't actually know. Yes, there are specific problems but sometimes I think it is just the overwhelming feeling that the buck stops with me for just about everything - at work, at home, even with Ruth. That sounds really pathetic, doesn't it, and usually it doesn't get to me but I suspect Meg is perhaps right about the hormones (although I am loathe to admit to it), plus I am tired and I need some space. Things feel a bit of a mess, too much stuff, perhaps life is too short for all of this. Maybe I should rethink things and reconsider the future. But the only thing I have the power to change there really is my job and whilst it is stressful I love it.
I will try writing a list. Maybe if I do deal with some of the things I can change I will feel better about the others? Is that the idea?
Sorry, this is a bit heavy isn't it.
I need to get a grip and get back to my usual self. I am just being a pain at home and not at all entertaining on blogger.
I need to check about that St Johns wort stuff. Being dependant on insulin I absolutely hate the idea of having to take anything else but I guessit might be worth a try.
Sorry to rant on. Thanks for listening!!
Wakey wakey!!!!!
I'm getting seriously worried about this lorry watching Rambling. Hee hee.
We need to get Le Chat to do the Meme quiz to cheer her up.
It's so nice to have you back. I enjoyed your last post too.
I went into work yesterday - for the first time in 3 months! I'm going to go in for a few days next week and probably start teaching again on Friday, hopefully. So, that is good news!
I see, so you think that the fact that I live in squalor might cause me to be miserable!!!! I'll kill that Meg. Well, you made me laugh anyway! When we left the house to go away I realised at the last minute that I hadn't emptied the car of all its clutter, so we just slung it all into the hall - shoes, bags, skis, ski suits, all manner of crap. When poor Meg came round to feed the cat that's what met her.
Yes, I am very untidy. But the sad thing is that I don't really notice the mess. Maybe it would cheer everybody else up though!! It would certainly please my cleaner.
Thanks Rambling. I do appreciate your comments and I actually feel a bit more cheerful. Wey hey!
What are marigolds? Are they rubber gloves?
oh oui triste toi!
as children me and my brother used to play spot the red car, much the same really...
he he he.
Eddie Stobart too - how did she know?
i've been fiddling with my template, let me know if my sidebar comes back. (Its fine on my computer)
(you need to be able to see my Neocounters, I've got 33 flags!!)
Betty - so glad to read your good news .... well done you! :o}
Ooooh, I just heard on the news that you might be getting a snoasis near you - ski-ing on real snow. Wow, lucky you.
Have you investigated those ski-ing lessons yet? They have snowflex at Norwich apparently.
No, I don't think it said it was agreed. It was just the first I had heard of it. I'm sure it is subject to EIA etc and the usual public consultation procedures.
Ski-ing holidays. Well, I just don't know. It depends in part whether you can learn before you go. If you can't you want to find somewhere with good ski schools with small class sizes and English speaking instructors (or do you all speak French? Maybe?). I'm Swiss so I tend to ski in Switzerland - Verbier usually but Zermatt is very good, car free, very pretty and brilliant ski-ing, off-piste, long runs, my fave but maybe not so good for beginners. Verbier is fine for beginners though. You can ski across the border into Italy from Zermatt. I love Zermatt, best ski runs anywhere and always within the shadow of the Matterhorn.
Dear me, I'll be off to the airport at this rate.
I can ask about good places for beginners at the ski club if you like. Dick is bound to know as he takes most of the beginner classes.
Sorry, I got sidetracked there. You asked about Megeve. I have been there and it was very pretty - Mont Blanc and nice and foresty - it is largely green runs though if my memory serves me right. That might not suit your husband if he takes to ski-ing like he does to cycling!!
Courcheval is perhaps more varied. Good low slopes and off-piste too. But busy.
That's why Zematt is so good - the season is long and it tends to be less busy.
I miss that place!!!
I'm going to shut up about ski-ing now and go to bed.
Good night!
Thanks for all that advice Le Chat. Verbier it is then!
Actually Andy isn't keen on going skiing and (I think) it's because he's never done it and doesn't like to do something in public unless he's the BEST at it. So to be a slippy/slidy/fally over beginner skier would embarrass him too much. Also he was knocked off his bike last year and suffered a broken leg and pelvis. He's still in pain with it (but not when cycling!) but skiing might aggravate his injury. I just think that he will REALLY LOVE it though. Just have to get him there.
