Setting the record straight

Well, as I was saying to Lettuce recently and Le Chat mentioned it too that my poor husband, Andy (for that is his name) comes out looking like the husband from hell on this blog. Which has been making feel bad, for he's not, not in the least. J'adore mon mari - in a 'we've been married for 16 years this May' - kind of way.

Not only is he handsome and very fit (a big plus at our age), he is also kind, and fiercely loyal to those he loves. He has a very strong sense of duty and if he was your friend he wouldn't keep in touch very often but he would come to your aid the minute you needed him. I can depend on him 100%. He is in no way a 'flaky' person. He works hard and takes his responsibilities extremely seriously. He has supported (and paid for) me to take a degree and part of my masters. He never complains when I go out, or go abroad with friends. More importantly, he allows me to be me. I could say much more but it's not necessary. (Ah, James Taylor has just come on the radio - You've got a friend - how apt.) He loves me, and I love him. There we go. Now can I go back to complaining about him now?

Here is a video of Andy dancing. He is the less visible one on the right. The other one is my brother in law, Kevin. The little one is my youngest and the one who runs in to protect her poor father from being laughed at at the end is our oldest.

And while I am feel technically clever, here is a video of youngest doing something silly. Please keep your eyes on her (not the cat)

Vacuum head,
Sucks you in,
Hopefully,
He'll make me thin!

Another poem:

Ode to Chocolate Brownie.

Oh,
You are so squidgy,
And brown...
With cups of tea,
You'll go down..
A treat...

I love chocolate,
So nicely gorgeous and sweet,
I think I'll wait for Rambling,
And find some more to eat.

I'll go a rambling.

I'll go a-rambling,
Whilst I wait on-line,
She always makes us happy,
She makes us feel so fine.

She lives in Ipswich in 't'country,
Her garden full of holes,
At least it's only rabbits,
And not those fluffy moles.

She's such a lovely person,
An artist, too, she's great,
I'm so glad I met her,
I'm sure it was meant, or fate.

I hope she's very happy,
And gets the house of her dreams,
I want to see more paintings,
I'll send some custard creams!

She spent some time with me,
We laughed and giggled with glee,
And now you can read her blog,
She's a star for all to see.

I sat here for five minutes,
Writing some poems for you,
But it seems you've gone to make some tea,
Or maybe have a poo.

love Bettyxx

Oh dear, sorry about what I said about your husband. I was only teasing. I know you said lots of nice things about him too.

Anyway, he sounds wonderful.

As for me, well becoming an Olympic downhill skier was my childhood dream. Not realised sadly. But no, that is me and of course I chose something flattering and something I could write something silly about.

It's my birthday next week and I will be 43. Young to be a head? Not really. I was when I was appointed (35) but they couldn't find anyone who was prepared to take this place on.

thanks le chat. Aren't you supposed to be at County Hall?

Well, you look young anyway. I would say younge than 43, but 43 can look so different on different people. Depends how many hard drinking, smoking, and other things -ing nights you've had in your life. Then it all catches up with you at about 41 and three months!

Fabtabulous!!!
He is, he's great.

I couldn't open the second vid. either - said something about it being private, I have to accept your friend request??? Too technical for me.

I did go to County Hall. I saw lots of people who frowned at me and even one who swore at me. It's better fun blogging. No-one at County Hall has ever said I look young and I never get asked for identification when I buy alcohol in the supermarket.

I wish I had never put that bloody photo up now. It's much nicer to be incognito or whatever the word is.

16 years though. That is so good.

Thank you for commenting on my blog. I think what you say about Dorothy is very true. Bereavement is very difficult. I do remember although I think for me because I was working it did make it easier as I was forced to get on with things.

And too true about making sure I have time to myself. I can't believe what happens to my days. I seem to get very little done.

Good luck to you and your husband. You seem smashing people. It's so lucky you found each other. How did you meet?

PS I couldn't see the second video. It said it was private.

Also meant to say that it's ok to moan about your man once in a while. Doesn't mean he's a bad person or that you don't love him just some days you need to moan, we understand girlfriend ;-)

Of your daughter falling down,
It really made me laugh,
And took away my frown.
